Philip Fairbanks True Story of Kai w/ William Ramsey Investigates

William Ramsey had me back on his show. He was one of the first to interview me for Pedogate Primer: The Politics of Pedophilia and a few other guest spots to talk about MK-Ultra, Professor Ross Cheit’s The Witch-Hunt Narrative with Roberta Glass True Crime Podcast and an episode where we talked about the Jimmy Savile documentary from Netflix. Speaking of Netflix documentaries that left a lot of interesting material out, this episode was primarily about Smash, Smash, Smash: The True Story of Kai the Hitchhiker

Smash, Smash, Smash vs Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker with That’s So F****d Up podcast

It was my pleasure to be a guest on That’s So F****d Up podcast yesterday. You can see it on Instagram right now at https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cnp2n4LhiqS/ Michelle and Ashley were kind enough to have me on the show to talk about Smash, Smash, Smash: the true story of Kai the Hitchhiker and the disparity between what the record shows that I’ve reported versus the prosecutors’ claims in Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker from RAW TV Ltd and Netflix. You can also watch the interview here on YouTube.

Remember to check out http://truestoryofkai.com as well for links to the materials I cite in the book and end notes, links to Kai’s petitions, fundraiser and social media, all my articles from here at philfairbanks.com, sample chapters from the book and a link to the Indiegogo where you can pre-order the print book and get the digital delivered same day!

First Book Review of Smash, Smash, Smash, Livestream with BZ Douglas and TSFU Podcast

Fiona Dodwell wrote an article about how Netflix’s Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker documentary seemed potentially exploitative. I reached out to her shortly after seeing it to offer her a digital advance review copy of Smash, Smash, Smash: the true story of Kai the Hitchhiker my new book. She has just published the first review online for the book! In other book-related news, I also appeared on That’s So F****d Up podcast today live from 330pm to nearly 5pm. As soon as the podcast link arrives will share it here.

Meantime, we are getting our first backers, pre-orders and digital sales of the book coming in slowly but surely. You can check out truestoryofkai.com for info on Kai’s petitions and fundraiser, the Indiegogo where you can get the book and my previous articles and interviews related to Kai. While you’re waiting for TSFU Podcast and some other to-be-announced guest spots, you can see me talk about what the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker got wrong about the case in this livestream I did with BZ Douglas (contributor of the afterword to the book).

Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story – What They Left Out w/ William Ramsey

This weekend, I appeared on William Ramsey Investigates to discuss the new docuseries from Netflix, “Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story.” The two part series is worth a watch to hear his associates hem and haw about how they had no clue as well as for giving survivors of his abuse a chance to share their stories, but not mentioning Savile’s occult interests or friendships with notorious child killers Ian Brady and the Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe were among some glaring omissions.

Had some technical issues unfortunately so I pop in a few minutes late, but apart from that, the conversation was quite enlightening . You can check out more of William Ramsey’s work from his books to his podcast at WilliamRamseyInvestigates.com and all the shows he has done that won’t get him booted from YouTube are available here.

B.Z. Listening Podcast Part I: Pedogate Primer Interview

I talked with indie journalist B.Z. Douglas recently for a two part interview. In part one we talk about my book Pedogate Primer: the politics of pedophilia which can be purchased at major booksellers such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million and a handful of shops (multiple in some countries) in Australia, Norway, UK, Poland, Holland, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Taiwan and elsewhere. I personally recommend supporting independent booksellers like Powell’s, Skylight Books or Trident’s Book Cafe. if you plan to buy it. As always if you can’t afford a copy, drop me a line at kafkaguy at gmail.com or via the contact form (if you don’t get an answer through the contact form try again with the email to be safe).

We had initially met through a mutual on Twitter who knew we were both dealing with harassment from lawyers with very vague and toothless threats trying to get us to pull factual reporting.

Right down to “false memory syndrome,” real estate fraud, corrupt officers of the court, prosecutorial misconduct, conflicts of interest and other points from each of our stories kept lining up as we became acquainted on a zoom call that morphed into the idea to collaborate on the upcoming Walking the Wire podcast. Speaking of, we have been doing aftershows via Streamyard and Twitter Spaces, our second was recently released online and can be found here.

I’ll be doing a Q/A session for B.Z.’s patreon supporters, Patreon supporters are also eligible for a free digital copy of my book as well (as always reviews always appreciated as they really help). You can also watch the above video at the B.Z. Douglas YouTube channel.

We’ll also continue doing “aftershows” at the @walkingwirepod account to discuss more about our cases as they relate to The Wire via Streamyard and Twitter spaces. Call in guests are welcome, you can see our second aftershow (first recorded) below.

Look for part 2 of this interview in a couple days. This Friday at 9pm EST B.Z. will be hosting me for a livestream Q&A.

If you’re a Patreon supporter, a PDF copy of my book is available for you at https://www.patreon.com/bzdouglas

Walking the Wire Podcast Aftershow featuring Philip Fairbanks

Between next week and early April should have a 3 hour interview (possibly in two parts) coming soon from independent journalist B.Z. Douglas. First half we talk about my book. In the second we talk about how we met, our shared love of The Wire and how a Twitter mutual friend introduced us due to our both being targeted for harassment by lawyers who don’t like the factual reporting we’ve done on their clients. On our first zoom call, The Wire, the early 2000s HBO crime drama came up. We talked a lot about how the show encapsulates corruption in the system and ended up discussing the idea of doing a podcast based on The Wire from the perspective of two indie journos. Each episode we cover one of the shows with help of a special guest. Mostly people who come from one of the walks of life in the show whether that’s dock workers, union members, ex drug dealers, former prisoners, former cops or whistleblowers. We’ve already got quite a few interesting guests lined up and have recorded the first 4 episodes which we should begin releasing by April if we stay on schedule.

Meantime, we are going to be doing Twitter spaces aftershows that will be restreamed on YouTube and Facebook. Today was our second aftershow and first livestreamed video afterparty. The stream only covers the first part, a Baltimore native came on and shared some inside scoops about certain characters in the show based on real people (David Simon even used real names of Baltimore homicide detectives like Jay Lansdale and many characters are based on real people or composites of multiple people).

Once we have a schedule will be shared with the next aftershow. We welcome audience engagement and even if you haven’t seen the show or heard the podcast you’re welcome to come join us (warning, spoilers abound).

You can check out B.Z. Douglas at http://www.bzdug.com where you can also find his YouTube, Substack, Patreon and social media including his music. That’s right, both B.Z. and I are guitarists and Tom Waits fans so the first two seasons of Walking the Wire podcast just may have versions of us covering the song… To keep up to date follow @walkingwirepod on Twitter.

Don’t forget to check out the new book Pedogate Primer: the politics of pedophilia now available at Amazon in paperback and on Kindle. Also available at independent booksellers like Powell’s and Skylight Bookstore if you’d rather not support Bezos and the chain stores like Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, Target and Wal-Mart. It is also available from some overseas sellers in Taiwan, Poland, UK, Australia, Germany and a couple other countries.

Union of Unwanted Minds Roundtable w/ Philip Fairbanks & Others

Ricky Varandas, host of the Ripple Effect podcast, had had me on his show previously. He was kind enough to invite to join the roundtable discussion surrounding Agenda 2030 and the future our cultural engineer oligarchs have been planning for us for years. Since about mid-November just before Thanksgiving I have been winding down a little bit to get some rest for the holidays but now that Christmas weekend is ending, will be time to get back full force. I am still in the midst of working on a barnburner of a follow-up book to Pedogate Primer: the politics of pedophilia. Still conducting interviews, seeking out primary sources, reading books, essays, studies and other secondary sources and taking notes.

I have a loose outline already and hope to be ready to start drafting between Spring and Summer. That will hopefully give me time to gather a few more folders of material from the UCLA Library Dr. Louis Jolyon West special collection as well. Joining me on the roundtable are a number of author authors, podcasters and radio hosts including the host of Skeptiko who I recorded with a couple weeks back and will hopefully be live soon and False Reality Check podcast whose episode with me dropped just a few days ago. Will be adding the couple of interviews I missed over the next few days to catch up and will hopefully be firing up the podcast again now that I’m mostly recovered from the injury and surgery and back to full time work. Check out the audio for the episode below.

Pedogate Primer Interview for Resistance Recovery

The latest promotional interview for Pedogate Primer: the politics of pedophilia was just released. I spoke with Piers Kaniuka, a podcast host and addiction recovery counselor this weekend about several topics from the book and we also ended up chatting about several other topics related to everything from Iran-Contra to the Opium Wars to CIA meddling with counterculture movements from abstract expressionism to the hippie music scene.
Piers has spoken to some amazing guests including one of my favorite researchers Douglas Valentine author of CIA As Organized Crime, Hotel Tacloban and The Phoenix Project, definitely check out his site Resistance Recovery for more of his excellent interviews. The audio only version should be available at Audible and several podcast repository sites in the next few days.

Our recorded conversation goes on for an hour and a half then we spent another 45 minutes or so just chatting after the show ended. Definitely looking forward to doing the show again when my next book comes out. Speaking of, I hint at what I’m working on next in the interview. Due to the spinal injury in January that I just had surgery to fix, I ended up having to put all the projects I was in the midst of on hold but hope to have the next book ready to edit early 2022 and fingers crossed will be ready to publish by Spring of next year.

Through the Plastic Screen ep06, Language, Culture, Education & History with Lindo Faelnar

This week it was my absolute pleasure to take part in a long chat with Lino Faelnar from Defenders of Indigenous Languages of the Archipelago. A lawyer, linguistic expert and language preservationist, Lino is also a genuine renaissance man. Our conversation was all over the map, both literally and figuratively as we bounced around from indigenous Filipino languages to the history of Crimea, Suharto and E. Timor, strange coincidences that seem to connect the Vikings to China, the Basque, Celts and the indigenous Melanesians who inhabited the Philippine islands before the Austronesian migrations. From Dr. Charles Tart to linguist Noam Chomsky and concepts like linguistic fascism or intellectual piracy, we covered quite a bit of ground in a little over 2 hours. Endangered languages and cultural genocide to the importance of folk tales and how stories and language affect our window on the world and much more today on through the plastic screen…

Unfortunately this was the last episode of the podcast for a while. I’ll be on hiatus until I can get the cost of the surgery taken care of and recover from that, but once I have that out of the way, already have several amazing guests from artists to best selling authors and ordinary people with extraordinary stories.

Pedogate Primer on How to Kill a Sacred Cow Podcast

Big thanks to Jay Henehan with How to Kill a Sacred Cow podcast for inviting me on the show. We ended up talking about a lot of topics that were tangential to those in the book. I also mentioned some of my current research projects.
